A 40-year-old Thomasville man has been arrested in connection with a double homicide Tuesday afternoon at the Budget Inn, at 201 North Road, the Thomasville Police Department said Wednesday.
Thomasville officers arrived at the Budget Inn at about 4:46 p.m., in reference to a body being found in one of the rooms.
When officers arrived, they entered room 2 where they found two men dead. Both had been shot, police said.
Police identified one victim as Javon McCall, 40, of High Point. The second victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
“TPD detectives are to be commended for their quick and efficient work in identifying and arresting a suspect within the first 12 hours of the investigation,” said Captain Brad Saintsing. “The suspect and victims were acquaintances, and this does not appear to be a random act.”
