Police investigating after woman stabbed on Newbury Street

Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed on Newbury Street in Boston on Sunday.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., a woman reported that her sister had been stabbed in the stomach at the intersection of Newbury and Gloucester streets in the Back Bay, according to police. She described her sister’s assailant as a heavyset Black male.

The woman was attacked while she was walking to A.T. O’Keeffe’s Irish Pub, a police report stated. A police officer provided medical aid until Boston EMS arrived. She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was stable, the report stated.

Police found a red winter hat the suspect was wearing, police said. As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made.
