The Riverside County coroner has identified a woman who died in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday near Desert Mirage High School as 22-year-old Perla Reyes Diaz of Thermal.

Diaz died from injuries sustained in a crash around 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of Harrison Street and 68th Avenue, which is in an agricultural area between Vista Santa Rosa and the Salton Sea, about a mile south of the high school.

According to CHP Officer David Torres, Diaz was driving alone northbound on Harrison Street, north of 70th Avenue, when she lost control of the car and went off the west side of the road, causing the vehicle to overturn. She was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
