BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Four people were arrested on Thursday after police located several narcotics at a Binghamton residence.

On Tuesday, the Broome County Special Investigations Take Force announced the arrest of Charles Bateman, 49, Elyis Ellsworth, 47, David Walker, 31, and Tawanna Platt, 37.

On April 11, investigators executed a search warrant at a basement apartment located at 546 State Street.

During the search, the following items were located:

  • Approximately 524 grams (1.15 pounds) of methamphetamine
  • Approximately five grams of crack cocaine
  • Approximately six grams of fentanyl
  • Approximately five grams of cocaine
  • 25 Suboxone sublingual films
  • $1,523 in suspected drug proceeds
  • Items used for weighing and packaging narcotics

As investigators entered the apartment, Bateman claimed that he would not comply with authorities. This led to a physical altercation and a police officer was injured during the struggle.

As a result of the investigation, Bateman, Ellsworth, Walker, and Platt were arrested and taken to the Binghamton Police Department on the following charges:

Bateman:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree
  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree
  • Assault in the Second Degree
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Two counts of Criminally Using drug paraphernalia

Ellsworth:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

Walker:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

Platt:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree
