Arvind Kejriwal Supreme Court Hearing Live Updates: The Supreme Court on Friday said that it may consider hearing arguments on interim bail of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal because of upcoming elections. Kejriwal is currently lodged in the Tihar jail under judicial custody after his arrest on March 21 in the case. The top court issued ED a notice on April 15 and sought its response to Kejriwal's plea. On April 9, the high court upheld Kejriwal's arrest, saying there was no illegality and the ED was left with "little option" after he skipped repeated summonses and refused to join the investigation. The matter pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government's now scrapped excise policy for 2021-22.

Pro-Palestine Protests at US universities: More than 200 people were arrested after resisting orders to disperse from the now-dismantled unlawful encampment on the University of California, Los Angeles campus, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block said in a statement. Block referred to the encampment as a "huge disruption." Till now around 2,000 pro-Palestinian protesters have been arrested across US university campuses. President Joe Biden defended the right to peacefully protest on college campuses but said vandalism, violence, hate speech and other “chaos” has no part in a peaceful protest. “Dissent is essential for democracy,” he said at the White House Thursday morning.“But dissent must never lead to disorder.” Student protests over the Israel-Hamas war have popped up at many college campuses following the arrest of demonstrators in April at Columbia University. The Democratic president said the U.S. is neither an authoritarian nation that squashes dissent, nor a lawless country.“We are a civil society and order must prevail,” Biden said. “We are a big, diverse, free-thinking and freedom-loving nation.” Tensions at colleges and universities have been building, with demonstrators refusing to remove encampments, administrators cancelling classes and events and police clearing some protests by force.Police arrested pro-Palestinian protesters on college campuses across the country overnight, most notably at the University of California, Los Angeles, where chaotic scenes played out early Thursday as officers in riot gear surged against a crowd of demonstrators and made arrests. Israel-Hamas War Live Updates: Turkey halts trade with Israel, seeks uninterrupted humanitarian aid flows into Gaza

Israel-Hamas War Live Updates: Turkey has stopped all exports and imports to and from Israel as of Thursday, the Turkish trade ministry said, citing "worsening humanitarian tragedy" in the Palestinian territories.

"Export and import transactions related to Israel have been stopped, covering all products," Turkey's trade ministry said in a statement.

"Turkey will strictly and decisively implement these new measures until the Israeli Government allows an uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza," he added.

Last month, Turkiye - a staunch critic of Israel - announced that it was restricting exports of 54 types of products to Israel with immediate effect. They include aluminum, steel, construction products and chemical fertilisers.

Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz sharply criticised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying in a post on X that Turkiye "is breaking agreements by blocking ports for Israeli imports and exports."

Earlier, US called on both Israel and Hamas to ensure that aid bound for civilians in Gaza is not disrupted, after a shipment from Jordan was attacked by Israeli settlers and subsequently diverted by Palestinian militants.
