GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -Friends of the Library kicked off their annual spring sale this week.

The 70-year-old organization hosts the five-day sale twice a year.

The flea market-style event is not only for books, but also includes art, comics, music, and manga.

“The community is really our greatest donor,” Ellen Smith, a board member shared. “People read books, they don’t want to send them to the landfill, they want to share them with someone else, we want to give them a good home, they bring them here we sort them again art and CD’s and music and such.”

The Alachua County Library also donates materials to the organization.

Shoppers can find most titles listed for anywhere from 50 cents to $50, with a collectors section of prized materials that can run up to $1000.

Friends of the Library will continue their sale every day from noon to 6 p.m. until Wednesday, April 24. Organizers say they will host another sale in October.
