State Police do not believe that the death of a missing Massachusetts woman whose remains were found on a trail in Petersburg is suspicious. Police responded to a wooded area known as the Taconic Trail in Petersburgh to assist a New York State forest ranger who had located human remains.

Police responded to a wooded area known as the Taconic Trail in Petersburgh to assist a New York State forest ranger who had located human remains. Those remains were positively identified as Fae Morgana Barbone, 40, of Hanson, who had been reported missing by her family on March 9.

New York State Police is working closely with the Abington Police Department on this investigation. Barbone’s cause of death is pending autopsy results and does not appear suspicious, police said on Friday.
