(WLUK) -- Our third named winter storm of the season is here.

Winter Storm Cora continues to impact the area with snow showers and very strong winds.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday for Northeast Wisconsin. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are still possible Wednesday morning and the morning commute will be hazardous, especially on the secondary roads. The snow will diminish this afternoon.

Due to intense wind and heavy snow, utilities in Northeast Wisconsin were reporting thousands of customers without power Tuesday evening, while viewers shared photos of trees and branches down.

Traffic may also be affected as utility crews fix power line issues.

In Door County, State Highway 57 is closed, both north and southbound lanes, between State Highway 42/County Highway MM and County Highway H due to low hanging utility lines across the four-lane highway.

If you can safely take a photo or video of weather conditions where you are, share it with us here:

Areas around Northeast Wisconsin are expected to accumulate an additional 1-3 inches of snow Wednesday before the storm moves out.

Some schools canceled classes and some are running on two-hour delays.

This snow will likely be a very wet, heavy snow, especially at first. Most of the area should pick up 6 to 12 inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon.
