Corn planting nearly halfway complete in MO

Corn planting is near the halfway point in Missouri, but slightly behind this time last year.

USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service says corn is 47% planted with 12% of the corn emerged. Soybean planting is 16% complete with 3% of the soybeans emerged.

Cotton planting is 3% and rice planting is 56% complete. 14% of the rice is emerged, well ahead of the average.

Winter wheat is 23% headed with conditions rated 77% good to excellent.
