BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police were called for the second dog attack at the same house in Boardman.

Just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday, police went to a house on Wilda Avenue after receiving a 911 call in which the caller was yelling for help but then the line went quiet.

Officers checked a house in the area and found no issue but decided to look at the neighboring house, where they had investigated a dog attack earlier in the month. There, they found a trail of blood coming from the front door, down the sidewalk and into the driveway, as well as more blood inside the front door.

A man then arrived, telling officers his dog “does not like gloves and stuff like that” and attacked his brother inside the house. He was able to stop the attack and placed the dog in a cage in the basement, and then transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

Police spoke with the victim in the hospital who reported that they had taken the dog for a walk and were playing with it inside. He said he then got up to go to the bathroom when the dog jumped up and bit his foot, later biting his hand as he tried to pry the dog off of his foot.

The report does not indicate whether the dog was the same dog involved in a similar incident at the home on April 9. Police had been called to the home then for a report of gunshots and found that a dog had bitten two people and had also been shot in the leg.

After that incident, a woman who owned the home was cited for not having a required dog license or rabies vaccinations. The dog was placed on a 10-day quarantine.
