A small, single-engine plane made an emergency landing at Kapiolani Regional Park on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call at 2:52 p.m. for the incident. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:03 p.m., with the Honolulu Police Department and Emergency Medical Services already on scene.

"It was reported that an aircraft encountered engine trouble and was not able to make it back to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport," HFD officials said. "The aircraft was able to land safely at Kapiolani Park and the assistance of HFD was not needed."

The plane landed on a grassy area of Kapiolani Park near Waikiki Shell.

EMS confirmed no injuries were reported.

Based on tail number registration records, the plane is a 2010 single-engine Piper Sport with two seats belonging to Belle Pacific Air LLC in Haleiwa, according to FlightAware.com.

The plane was piloted by Kyler Kerbox and a woman who identified herself as Taylor.

The FAA confirmed two people were on board the airplane when the pilot reported engine issues, and landed the plane at Kapiolani Regional Park.The FAA said it will investigate the incident.
