NYPD arrests Pro-Palestinian protesters as demonstrations spread from Columbia University to others

Police arrested roughly 120 pro-Palestinian demonstrators at New York University, having arrested dozens at Yale earlier on Monday and more than 100 at Columbia last week, on trespassing charges. Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley, Republican senators, called on Joe Biden to send the National Guard to Columbia University to respond to the protests. Other lawmakers called on Minouche Shafik, Columbia’s president, to resign.
