OF 2035. A WELLINGTON MOTHER IS GRIEVING THE LOSS OF HER TEENAGE DAUGHTER, WHO DIED AFTER SUFFERING FROM A BRAIN BLEED. BUT SHE’S SHARING THE STORY OF THAT BEAUTIFUL LIFE AND HOW HER LIFE IS NOW HELPING OTHERS, INCLUDING THOSE CLOSEST TO HER. OUR SOOJI NAM JOINING US NOW IN THE STUDIO WITH MORE ON THIS MOVING STORY. SOOJI. FELICIA TODD WILL LOVED ONES OF 13 YEAR OLD SAMARIA GLEN MADE THE DECISION TO DONATE HER ORGANS AFTER SHE DIED IN THE HOSPITAL. HER FATHER WAS ALSO IN DIRE NEED OF A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, AND THEY FOUND OUT SHE WAS HIS MATCH. I TALKED TO SAMARIA’S MOTHER AS SHE REMEMBERS HER BEAUTIFUL LIFE. SO I WAS PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE IN THE HOSPITAL. HER LIFE WAS A MIRACLE. ALL. I LOVE HER AND I MISS HER EVERY DAY. EVERY MOMENT. DIMA MARTIN NOW ASKS WHY? WHY? WHY DID THIS HAPPEN TO HER DAUGHTER? 13 YEAR OLD SAMARIA GLEN WAS HEALTHY, VIBRANT, BUT ON JANUARY 31ST, HER LIFE CHANGED. SHE COMPLAINED OF A HEADACHE. UNBEKNOWNST TO ME. UM, HOW SEVERE WAS HER BRAIN WAS BLEEDING. SO SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, LOCAL HOSPITAL, AND THEY AIRLIFTED TO JOE DIMAGGIO. SAMARIA WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE SHE DIED. BUT I STILL BELIEVE IN GOD TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE TO SAVE HER. HER FAMILY MADE THE DECISION TO DONATE HER ORGANS, SAVING FIVE PEOPLE’S LIVES AND ONE OF THOSE LIVES. SAMARIA’S FATHER, HE NEVER TOLD HIS KIDS HE WAS ON DIALYSIS SERVICE, BUT HE WAS IN DIRE NEED OF A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT. AND NOW SAMARIA’S KIDNEY HELPED SAVE HER FATHER’S LIFE. SHE WOULD HAVE WANTED THAT. SHE WOULD HAVE WANTED TO SAVE HER FATHER. THE TRAGEDY ALSO OCCURRED JUST A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE DIMA WAS ABOUT TO GET MARRIED. WENT FROM A TIME TO CELEBRATE LOVE TO. WATCHING MY DAUGHTER LAY THERE UNRESPONSIVE, NOT CONSCIOUS. YOU KNOW, AND THEN LOSING HER AND NOW DIMA WEARS THESE BRACELETS HER DAUGHTER MADE FOR HER AS A WEDDING GIFT. SAMARIA HAD BIG DREAMS. SHE WAS A SEVENTH GRADER AT BOK MIDDLE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS IN WEST PALM BEACH. SHE WANTED TO BE AN ACTRESS, SO WOULD MEMORIZE MONOLOGUES, SINGING SONGS. SHE WAS A BIG TAYLOR SWIFT FAN AND NOW SHE CHERISHES THE MEMORIES OF HER BRIGHT PERSONALITY AND TAKES IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. I CALL HER MY LOVE BUG. SO LOVE BUG, I LOVE YOU ALL SO BAD. SHE’S PERFECT. SHE’S AMAZING, SHE’S BEAUTIFUL. AND IT STARTED ON THE INSIDE. AND SAMARIA IS TRULY A SHINING EXAMPLE OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A HERO TO EVERYBODY AROUND THEM. AND IN FACT, EVERY EIGHT MINUTES ANOTHER PERSON IS ADDED TO THE NATIONAL TRANSPLANT WAITING LIST AND THIS MONTH IS DONATE LIFE MONTH. SO SAMARIA LOVED ONES WANT TO SHARE THIS HEROIC STORY OF THEIR DAUGHTER. SHE SAVED HER FATHER. SHE DID. AND HER FATHER LIVES. AND HER FATHER DID NOT TELL ANY OF HIS CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T WANT THEIR CHILDREN TO CARRY THAT BURDEN. BUT IN THE END, IT TURNED OUT THAT THEIR DAUGHTER DID SAVE HIS LIFE. Dhima Martin now asks why. Why did this happen to her daughter? "I was praying for a miracle in the hospital. Her life was a miracle. I love her. And I miss her every day, every moment," Martin told sister station WPBF 25 News.Her 13-year-old daughter, Symaria Glenn, was healthy. She was vibrant. But on January 31, her life changed. "She complained of a headache. Unbeknownst to me, how severe it was, her brain was bleeding. So, she was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital," Martin said. Her daughter was in the hospital for about a week before she died. "I still believed in God to do the impossible, save her," she said. Her family had made the decision to donate her organs and ended up saving five people's lives. One of them was actually the life of the teen's father. He had never told his children he was on dialysis. But he was in dire need of a kidney transplant. And it turned out that Glenn's kidney was a match to her father's. "She would have wanted that. She would have wanted to save her father," Martin said. The tragedy also occurred just a couple of days before Martin was about to get married. "Went from a time to celebrate love, to watching my daughter lay there unresponsive and unconscious and then losing her," she said. And now, she wears beautiful, handmade bracelets that her daughter made for her as a wedding gift. "She wanted to be an actress, so would memorize monologues, singing songs, she was a big Taylor Swift fan," Martin said. April is Donate Life Month, and officials say, "Every 8 minutes, another person is added to the national transplant waiting list, emphasizing the urgency of the situation."Martin and her loved ones wanted to share the heroic actions and the beautiful life of their daughter.
