Vanderbilt baseball live score updates vs South Carolina in SEC series

Vanderbilt baseball took its first series loss of the season at South Carolina, snapping the Commodores' 14-game losing streak after being swept in a doubleheader Saturday.

Vanderbilt (19-5, 3-2 SEC) will look to salvage the final game of the series Sunday.

The Gamecocks lost their series to Ole Miss on the road to open conference play. They also have two Vanderbilt transfers in their lineup with Parker Noland, who played with the Commodores from 2020 to 2023, and Gavin Casas, who played at Vanderbilt in 2021 and '22.

The No. 3 Commodores have dealt with multiple injuries that have left their roster a bit depleted. Jack Bulger (hamstring) and Camden Kozeal (shoulder) have been banged-up, and while both were available for the Auburn series, they were limited. Bulger appeared to aggravate the hamstring injury on Saturday.

RJ Austin was a late scratch from Tuesday's game against Belmont after being hit in the face with a ball during warmups. Among pitchers, the status of Andrew Dutkanych (arm) and JD Thompson (soreness) are up in the air.
