A new restaurant that will offer Southern cuisine and live entertainment in a “grown and sexy” atmosphere is set to open in early June at the Mall of Louisiana.

Flavor’s Restaurant & Bar will go into a 7,500 square foot space in the mall’s open air boulevard shopping center. Several restaurants have operated in that space over the years, most recently Old Captain Juicy Seafood and Bar.

Owner Quincy Quiett ran Culture Sports Bar on Bennington Avenue for four years, before the restaurant outgrew its space.

Quiett first looked at the Mall of Louisiana location about a year ago, but another tenant was negotiating for the space. He checked back about three months ago and saw that there was no activity going on in the building.

“I called the agent who had the listing for the restaurant and they said it was available,” Quiett said. “It was a blessing.”

With a new location in place, Quiett said he decided to change the name of the restaurant to stress the flavorful food and drinks that will be on the menu.

Flavor’s will have a menu that features south Louisiana staples, such as fried fish, crawfish etouffee and red beans and rice, along with items such as lamb chops and fried ribs.

The restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. during the weekdays and will be closed on Tuesdays. Flavor’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a Sunday brunch.

About 30 people will work in the restaurant, Quiett said.

Plans are to add free valet parking shortly after the restaurant opens, along with a Sprinter van which will be available to pick up guests for private parties.
