One of two men who pleaded guilty in a series of drive-by shootings in the Bismarck area last fall has been sentenced to serve two years in prison.
Marcus Johnson, 21, of Mandan, pleaded guilty in February to eight counts of conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment, one count of reckless endangerment and three counts of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief. All but one of the 12 charges were felonies. He was sentenced Monday to five years in prison with all but two years suspended, and given credit for 189 days already served behind bars, court documents show.
He will be on probation for three years following his prison time. Restitution will be determined later.
Johnson and another man, Elijah Infante, of Bismarck, both of whom are in their early 20s, were accused of shooting a .22-caliber rifle at homes, cars and businesses during a weekend shooting spree in Bismarck and Burleigh County in mid-October, including in the Sattler Sunrise addition in Bismarck and a number of neighborhoods outside city limits north of state Highway 1804 and west of U.S. Highway 83.

Authorities said more than two dozen rounds hit targets, and that while no injuries were reported, one bullet entered a home through a window and missed a sleeping child by mere feet.
Infante pleaded guilty earlier this month to the same charges. The judge ordered a presentence investigation. Sentencing will be scheduled later. Infante remains in custody at the Burleigh Morton Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond. Each of the felony charges carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.Â
