Top Auburn Recruiting Target Picks Penn State

Will Auburn still go after top recruit?

As expected, Auburn lost out on a top in-state recruit.

Running back Alvin Henderson comes from Elba (Ala.) High School and is now a member of Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class. Prior to his decision to verbally commit to the Nittany Lions, Henderson made the trek to Auburn more than 10 times for unofficial visits.

It is not yet known how many official visits Henderson will take, if any besides Penn State. That brings up the biggest question.

Is Henderson done with his recruitment?

Many reporters covering Auburn’s recruiting efforts closely believe this race is far from over. National Signing Day will not be until December and it’s possible that Rivals’ #36 player nationally could still sign with the Tigers. There’s good reason for Henderson’s lofty ranking and why Hugh Freeze and his staff would still go after him.

Going by MaxPreps, Henderson’s 2023 statistics include 225 carries, 3,523 yards, a 15.7 average, surpassing 100 yards in all 14 games, and 61 touchdowns.
