SUNSHINE IN WEATHER WATCH 12 BREAKING TONIGHT AT TEN, A MISSING WOMAN HAS BEEN FOUND DEAD. EARLIER TODAY, MILWAUKEE POLICE REPORTED 41 YEAR OLD TAMIKA STEWART CRITICALLY MISSING. THEY SAY SHE WAS LAST SEEN NEAR 10TH AND CRAMER. BUT JUST HOURS AGO, POLICE CONFIRMED THEY FOUND HER BODY NEAR 29TH AND RUBY 12 NEWS IS. ERICA FINK IS LIVE AT MILWAUKEE POLICE DISTRICT FIVE. ERICA, THIS IS BEING INVESTIGATED AS A HOMICIDE AND IT’S A DEVASTATING END TO A SEARCH FOR TAMIKA STEWART’S FAMILY AFTER HER BODY WAS FOUND NEAR 29TH AND RUBY SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS POLICE GOING DOOR TO DOOR IN THAT AREA WITH CRIME SCENE TAPE CLEARLY VISIBLE. PEOPLE I SPOKE WITH SAID OFFICERS WERE THERE BLOCKING OFF THE STREETS. WE NOW KNOW THAT THAT HAPPENED AROUND 1030 THIS MORNING AROUND NOON, IS THE TIME THAT MILWAUKEE POLICE ISSUED A CRITICAL MISSING ALERT FOR STEWART AND THAT ALERT SAID SHE WAS LAST SEEN SUNDAY EVENING NEAR 10TH AND CENTER. BUT TONIGHT, STEWART’S DEATH IS BEING INVESTIGATED AS A HOMICIDE. POLICE NOW SAY THEY HAVE SOMEONE IN CUSTODY, A 41 YEAR OLD MALE. AND THEY ALSO SAY THAT IT’S DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RELATED. NEIGHBORS NEAR 29TH. AND RUBY SAID THAT THEY WERE NERVOUS AND WAITING FOR ANSWERS AS. MILWAUKEE IS COMING TO A SICK PLACE AND IT’S LIKE YOU CAN’T BE NOWHERE AT THIS POINT. SO IT’S LIKE YOUR BEST BET IS JUST JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU JUST PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY THE BEST WAY YOU CAN. A missing Milwaukee woman was found dead in the trunk of a car Wednesday near 29th Street and Ruby Avenue, police said. Tomitka Stewart, 41, was last seen near 10th and Center streets at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. Police issued a "critical missing" alert for Stewart just after noon on Wednesday, April 17. The Milwaukee Police Department said her body was found around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, shortly after issuing the alter. Detectives are investigating her death as a homicide. In a second update Wednesday night, police said they took a 41-year-old man into custody connected to the case. Charges are pending review by the district attorney's office. Police said this case is related to domestic violence."The Milwaukee Police Department sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Tomitka Stewart that are impacted by this tragedy," police said.

Missing woman found dead

The Milwaukee Police Department said her body was found around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, shortly after issuing the alter. Detectives are investigating her death as a homicide.

In a second update Wednesday night, police said they took a 41-year-old man into custody connected to the case. Charges are pending review by the district attorney's office. Police said this case is related to domestic violence.
