MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -

Monday morning was the chilliest morning Meridian has had since April 5th, and it looks like we’ll start our Tuesday morning with another chill. Temps will hover around 40 degrees early Tuesday...10-15 degrees below the average. So, make sure to wear a jacket or sweater heading out the door. Yet, your Tuesday afternoon brings highs in the upper 70s which is closer to the average high and rather pleasant for outdoor plans. Plus, high pressure will make sure there’s plenty of sunshine to go around.

Wednesday morning will be cool, but not as chilly as how we started the week. Lows will start in the low 50s, and actually, our mornings get milder as the week goes on with morning lows near 60 degrees by Friday. Guess what? Afternoon highs will be on the rise as well courtesy of a southerly wind and upper-level ridging. So, expect low 80s on Wednesday with mid 80s (above average) by Friday.

Rain will be hard to find this week, but a weak cold front will actually cross our area Wednesday. As it moves in, there could be enough moisture for it to squeeze out some isolated showers. The front will stall just south of us, then move back north as a warm front on Thursday... allowing for another isolated shower (or two) to be squeezed out. Otherwise, don’t count on much rain until potentially early next week. So, enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.
