Recently, Mumbai-based travel firm India Someday released a list of the top Instagrammable tourist destinations in India, that are sure to captivate travellers and inspire wanderlust. The list is based on hashtags per acre, which is calculated by dividing the total number of hashtags by the area (in acres) of each attraction.

10 most Instagrammable tourist spots in India

1. Gateway of India

Topping the list of Gateway of India with 700,000 hashtags per acre. A prominent landmark in Mumbai, this grand archway was built in 1924 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911. The structure was constructed in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style.

2. Jama Masjid

With 359,000 hashtags, second on the list is Jama Masjid. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Jama Masjid is one of the largest and most famous mosques in India and an architectural masterpiece that reflects the grandeur of the Mughal era.

3. Hawa Mahal

Third on the list is Hawa Mahal, a stunning architectural marvel located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, it is a unique five-story structure made of pink sandstone, featuring a distinctive facade with 953 small windows called jharokhas.
