LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A man and a 13-year-old boy were hospitalized following a motorcycle crash in the northeast Las Vegas valley near Charleston Boulevard and Sloan Lane.

On Friday around 8:25 p.m., Las Vegas police responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle in the intersection of East Charleston Boulevard and South Sloan Lane.

Evidence at the scene and video of the crash showed that a Harley Davidson was driving westbound on Charleston, approaching the intersection while a Jeep Grand Cherokee made a U-Turn on a permissive green light.

The crash occurred when the driver of the Jeep failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle, resulting in “significant damage to both vehicles,” police said.

The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition, Metro police said in a release on Saturday.

The 13-year-old passenger of the motorcycle sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a local hospital, according to police.

A passenger in the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
