Notre Dame baseball accomplishes a feat they haven’t done since 1988

It was quite the weekend for Notre Dame baseball as they hosted Boston College.

The Irish swept the series, ending their agony against ACC opponents, but the biggest news was what happened on Sunday. Notre Dame used four pitchers and combined to no-hit the Eagles, as they won convincingly 13-0 in seven innings.

Sure, it was a shorter game, but you can blame the Irish offense for that, as they erupted for a bakers dozen of runs. They slugged five home runs, but the real story was the pitching. Rory Fox, Tobey McDonough, Sammy Cooper and Will Jacobsen all helped the Irish achieve history on Sunday.

The big weekend puts Notre Dame’s season record at 20-18, 5-16 in conference play and now 5 consecutive wins. They will be back on the diamond Wednesday to face Central Michigan before welcoming in Wake Forest over the weekend.
