John Purdue Club and Boilermaker Alliance Offer One-Time Opportunity to Own Pieces of Purdue History on April 24; Gifts by Football Alum Bob Martin & Family to Lead the Way

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Wednesday, April 24, 2024, will mark the most significant Purdue Day of Giving in Purdue Athletics history to date. Coming off a historic run to the national title game and a second straight Big Ten Championship for the Purdue men's basketball program, this Purdue Day of Giving will offer Boilermaker fans an opportunity to commemorate history and bolster our athletic department's unprecedented momentum to stay atop the national landscape of college sports.

The Purdue for Life Foundation's annual 24-hour experience will bring together more than 70 campus units, including all 18 Boilermaker sport programs. For the first time, the John Purdue Club (JPC) will share its stage with the Boilermaker Alliance as both organizations aim to raise record funds in support of Purdue student-athletes.

For one day only, the following men's basketball 2023-24 season mementos will be provided exclusively to those who donate to either the JPC's Forging Ahead campaign or the Boilermaker Alliance at the following levels:
  • $2,500 gift: Purdue men's basketball shadowbox with team photo and authentic confetti from the 2023-24 season
  • $10,000 gift: Final Four Mackey Arena replica banner (sized 6x10)
  • $25,000 gift: Midwest Regional trophy replica with Purdue team statistics
  • $50,000 gift or pledge commitment: NCAA National Championship authentic basketball court piece
  • $100,000 gift or pledge commitment: Purdue Basketball 2023-24 season photo book signed by L. Dick Buell Men's Basketball Head Coach Matt Painter
  • $250,000 gift or pledge commitment: NCAA National Championship authentic team chair and Purdue men's basketball VIP experience
  • $1,000,000 gift or pledge commitment: Two NCAA Final Four authentic team-issued watches and Purdue men's basketball VIP experience
Donors who give at the $10,000 level and above will receive the designated memento plus the items listed at the preceding levels. For example, a person who makes a $100,000 gift commitment will receive the photo book, the court piece, the Midwest trophy, the replica banner, and the confetti shadowbox.

After the incredible March Madness run that featured Purdue on the national stage, alumni are stepping up to help the Boilermakers take their next giant leap forward. Purdue football alumnus Bob Martin and his wife, Amy, a former college student-athlete herself, have come forward to announce a leadership gift commitment for Purdue Day of Giving of $1 million to the JPC through its Forging Ahead campaign and another $1 million to the Boilermaker Alliance.

"Amy and I are thrilled to support Purdue Athletics and the Boilermaker Alliance at this critical time in our history!" said Martin, the CEO of Thor Industries in Elkhart, Indiana. "The atmosphere at the Final Four was an emphatic statement about Purdue having the best fan base in the country. It motivated us to provide resources to ensure we are competing for championships across all sports with venues full of Purdue fans for years to come. Our time on the national stage is now, and we hope all of Boilermaker Nation will step up and seize it by showing their support."

Important notes on 2024 Purdue Day of Giving:
  • Per NCAA rules, the JPC and Boilermaker Alliance are running separate promotions simultaneously on the same day.
  • While giving to both organizations is encouraged, donation totals to each organization (JPC and BA) cannot be combined for the purpose of obtaining mementos per NCAA rules.
  • Giving to the Forging Ahead campaign is separate from the annual membership level for JPC members. However, gifts to Forging Ahead are rewarded with double priority points (two points per $100), which will factor into seating and parking processes for Purdue athletics and more.
  • The Boilermaker Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization. Gifts to the Boilermaker Alliance are not gifts to Purdue University so cannot count toward JPC membership or be rewarded with any priority points, ticket benefits, or parking benefits per NCAA rules.
Donors also have the chance to advance their JPC or Varsity P membership status through the Boiler UPgrade program, which allows members to upgrade their annual membership on Purdue Day of Giving, ahead of the April 30 membership deadline, and automatically jump to the next membership level.

Those who upgrade to the next level will receive select benefits from the tier above their new level and will enhance Priority Point ranking for postseason opportunities. For example, First Team ($200) members who choose to upgrade to the Captain ($500) level will receive select benefits at the MVP ($1,000) level. Priority access to tickets and parking will be allocated at the Captain level. Please note some benefit exclusions apply. Membership upgrades do not guarantee postseason tickets. Priority access to tickets and parking will remain correlated to cash giving levels.

Opportunities to contribute toward an annual JPC membership will also be available through Varsity P, the philanthropic arm of the JPC for athletics alumni, including former Boilermaker varsity student-athletes, managers, athletic trainers, coaches, practice players, and spirit squad members. Athletics alumni who make a gift and select their former sport will help their respective teams earn additional bonus funds.
