Not that it’s uncommon for April around here, but Chicagoland residents spent Saturday wondering when spring would come back, with frost even accompanying the dawn in some inland spots Sunday morning.

Good news, though: Mild and sunny weather returns Sunday afternoon, as temperatures rebound back toward normal for this time of year.

Wind chill values were still pretty chilly early Sunday morning, hovering in the 30s, but temps should climb to around 60 for most of Chicagoland by the afternoon. It will also be sunny and dry, though a strong breeze of 30 to 40 miles per hour could whip up later on.

Monday and Tuesday look to be similar, maybe even a little warmer, though some rain could move in by Monday evening.

After a brief dip and a chilly Wednesday, temps should go right back up again, with the early forecast for next weekend showing low 70s.
