JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Janesville Police Department announced Friday an arrest in a homicide case after the body of a 22-year-old woman was found off Peace Trail earlier this week.

The body was found Wednesday near the Fisher Creek section of Peace Trail along Afton Road in Janesville. Officers arrived at the scene around 12:47 p.m.

Police were at the scene Thursday and Friday morning, as a section of the trail was closed to the public.

Since that time, Logan Barclay, 23, of Janesville, has been arrested for first-degree intentional homicide.

Authorities say the crime scene was outside of Barclay's home.

Police Chief Chad Pearson said neither the victim nor Barclay had a criminal history prior to the victim's death.

Pearson said the two knew each other through a past dating relationship, and it's believed they share a child.

Officials are awaiting autopsy results from the Rock County Medical Examiner on the manner and cause of death.
