WE HAVE BREAKING NEWS A WOMAN HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS OF CARMEL VALLEY HAS GONE MISSING THE MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR CAROLINE MEISTER CAROLINE REPORTEDLY LEFT THE TASSAJARA ZEN MOUTAIN CENTER AROUND 10 A.M. ON MONDAY SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO HIKE A TRAILT HAT LOOPS BACK TO THE ZEN CENTER BUT NEVER RETURNED BACK RESCUE CREWS SAID SHE ONLY HAD SNACKS FOR THE DAY AND WAS NOT EQUPPED FOR AN OVERNIGHT TRIP. SEARCH AND RESCUE, A DRONE TEAM AND A CHP HELICOPTER HAVE ALL AIDED IN THE SEARCH NOW THEY ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S HELP.... IF YOU WERE HIKING IN THE TASSAJARA ZEN MOUNTAIN

Deputies searching for missing hiker last seen in Ventana Wilderness
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said their Search and Rescue Team is searching for a hiker who was reported missing Monday night at around 11:27 p.m. Caroline Meister, 30, is described as a white woman who stands at 5 feet, 6 inches and weighs around 150 pounds. She has long brown hair that is most likely pulled up.She was last seen wearing teal-colored boots and carrying a blue bag. A Monterey County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said Meister left the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center at about 10 a.m. on Monday. She said she was going to hike a trail that loops back around the Zen Center. She also allegedly mentioned hiking the "Windcave Trail," said the spokesperson. She was said to have been carrying snacks for the day and was not dressed or equipped for an overnight stay. The Monterey County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team, Drone Team and California Highway Patrol Helicopter have been working together to try and find the missing hiker. The Tassajara Zen Mountain Center said that Meister is an employee and resident of the center.
