To the editor:

I am writing to express my support for Deb Giardino in her bid to become Foxboro’s next select board member. I have known Giardino for close to 50 years and during that time, I have always known her to exhibit an intense sense of civic and community pride. Not surprising for someone born, raised and who has lived in Foxboro her entire life.

Dating back to her days at Foxboro High, she participated in student government where her leadership skills originated. Years later she served as Foxboro’s recreation director, a position she held for over 20 years. It was during that time that I saw firsthand as a member of the Foxboro Recreation Board, Giardino’s ability to work in town government. She displayed strong leadership and organizational abilities by creating programs, hiring staff, operating within a set budget, and collaborating with other town departments (fire, police, forestry and parks) to run a successful department.

Giardino is intelligent but uses common sense. She is strong-minded, but also open-minded. She is enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard working. She is a people person and will serve the citizens of Foxboro with an unwavering passion if elected. Please join me on May 6 and cast your vote for Giardino for Foxboro Select Board.
