Rudy Giuliani Compares His Trial to Hitler's Nazi Germany

Rudy Giuliani has described legal action against himself and Donald Trump as "like the trials you would have during Hitler's era or Stalin's era" during a podcast appearance.

The former New York mayor and Trump lawyer made the claims while a guest on the conservative Thrivetime Show: The ReAwakening Versus the Great Reset podcast, which is on the Rumble video-sharing platform.

In December, Giuliani was ordered to pay Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss $148 million after a jury in Washington, D.C., concluded he defamed them by falsely saying that the pair committed election fraud. Trump is on trial in New York over claims he falsified business records to conceal the payment of hush money to former pornographic actress Stormy Daniels. He has pled not guilty to all charges and denies any wrongdoing.

Speaking about the ongoing legal situation on the podcast, Giuliani said: "These trials, we talk about Hitler or Stalin, these are like the trials you would have during Hitler's era or Stalin's era. Whether it's the one we see in New York or the one that I had and constant threats of trying to put you in jail, like they're doing with President Trump. If you say anything to defend yourself, you could go to jail."

A clip of his remarks was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by MeidasTouch editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski, where it has received more than 139,000 views.

During the same podcast appearance, Giuliani said Trump supporters are being "persecuted or attacked or prosecuted" because "they're afraid of us."

Giuliani added: "They're afraid that we'll uncover their schemes. Sometimes, their schemes are for money; sometimes, they're for power; and the more it becomes possible that we are going to uncover it, the worse they get, so in my case, I'm not as big or important a target as Donald Trump, but I'm pretty important."

Giuliani has vowed to appeal the $148 million defamation case outcome. It was filed after he falsely accused Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, two election workers from Fulton County in Georgia, of engaging in electoral fraud against Trump.

Exiting the court in December, Giuliani said, "I don't regret a damn thing," later adding: "The absurdity of the number merely underscores the absurdity of the entire proceeding, where I've not been allowed to offer one single piece of evidence in defense.

"I am quite confident, when this case gets before a fair tribunal, it will be reversed so quickly, it will make your head spin. And the absurd number that just came in will help that, actually."

After the verdict, Freeman, who is also Moss's mother, said: "Today is a good day. A jury stood witness to what Rudy Giuliani did to me and my daughter, and held him accountable."

Giuliani later declared bankruptcy with filings listing his total assets at $10,632,334, of which $9.1 million was real estate.
