SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The latest Summit League men’s basketball tournament MVP is now a UCLA Bruin.

William Kyle III, a former South Dakota State standout, announced on social media he will transfer to play for UCLA. Kyle III, who has two years of eligibility left, finished his sophomore season averaging 13.1 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game. He scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds in SDSU’s 82-65 loss to Iowa State in the NCAA tournament.

Zeke Mayo, another SDSU transfer, announced earlier month he’d play his senior season at Kansas.

Kyle III, Mayo, North Dakota’s B.J. Omot and Omaha’s Frankie Fidler, all first team All-Summit League members, entered the transfer portal after it opened March 18.

Omot transferred to the California Bears, while Fidler announced he’ll play at Michigan State next year.
