2 arrested in Syracuse after pursuit for stolen vehicle, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — Two people were arrested Sunday morning on Syracuse’s South Side after a short pursuit for stealing a car, police said.

A police officer noticed around 10:30 a.m. Sunday that a Hyundai Sonata previously reported stolen was now near Valley Drive and Ballantyne Road, according to Sgt. Thomas Blake, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Police Department.

The officer attempted to pull it over but the driver didn’t stop, leading them on a chase, Blake said.
