CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The case against the woman accused of damaging the Irvine Park Christmas Village has been suspended. Today (4/23/24) in Chippewa County Court, 32-year-old Ebony Hudson of Loudon, Tennessee, was found not competent to stand trial.

In December, authorities received a report of a van hitting Christmas decorations at Irvine Park. The van also repeatedly rammed into a park employee’s truck. The driver was identified as Hudson. She was charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, felony criminal damage to property, negligent operation of vehicle, and disorderly conduct.

Earlier this month, Hudson contested a competency report, saying she is competent. However, during today’s hearing, the court found Hudson not competent to stand trial and her case was suspended. The court also ordered Hudson be committed for treatment.
