Starting off our weekend on a gloomy note with some light showers across much of the state and even a few snowflakes in northwest Kansas.
A few occasional sprinkles hang on through the day, though most will remain cloudy and cool. Highs in the 40s and 50s will keep it cool, maybe even jacket-worthy.
Any moisture leftovers will be gone by tonight, with clouds beginning to decrease by tomorrow morning.
Temperatures come down to near freezing in western Kansas tonight
A Freeze Watch covers tonight for the Oklahoma Panhandle.
Tomorrow the sun comes back out and brings us a bit more warmth, though it will still be on the cool side with highs reaching the lower 60s.
The forecast turns unsettled this week with multiple opportunities for moisture. The first of these arrives late Monday into early Tuesday as a few showers and storms clip areas especially along I-70.
Then our attention turns toward late week. Temperatures will be warming, humidity increasing. By Thursday, another strong storm system will be knocking on the door.
This may lead to a fairly widespread rainfall event, with the possibility of severe storms Thursday evening and overnight into Friday morning.
A Slight Risk has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for Thursday, covering much of Kansas and Oklahoma.
Another system may follow up quickly next weekend, bringing more chances of rain and storms.
