Severe Weather Alert Day: Late day storms Sunday

THIS TIME TOMORROW AS OUR STORMS ROLL THROUGH THE AREA. FOR NOW, MAINLY CLEAR SKIES. IT’S BEEN A BEAUTIFUL EVENING ON ACTION CAM AND WE’RE GOING TO SEE AGAIN A NICE START TO THE DAY TOMORROW. IT’S AS WE GET LATER IN THE DAY THAT WE’LL WATCH FOR SHOWERS AND STORMS TO DEVELOP. THAT’S WHEN WE’LL GO ON TO SEVERE WEATHER ALERT DAY. UNTIL THAT POINT THOUGH. AGAIN, BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE AND MIXING WITH THE CLOUDS THROUGH THE DAY. STORMS START FIRING ABOUT 4:00 NORTH OF THE CITY AND IT WILL TAKE UNTIL ABOUT LIKELY TEN 11:00 MIDNIGHT. THE LATEST FOR THOSE STORMS TO CLEAR OUT OF OUR AREA. SO AGAIN, HARDLY A CLOUD OUT THERE FOR NOW. THAT CHANGES TOMORROW. SO TOMORROW MORNING, A WEAK COLD FRONT PASSES BY THAT MAY TOUCH OFF A SHOWER. THAT’S THE WORST WE’LL HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW MORNING. IT’S AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 4:00. WE’LL WATCH FOR SHOWERS AND STORMS DEVELOPING NORTH OF I-80. THIS DRIFT SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS AND WILL FINALLY PUSH THROUGH AS WE GET TOWARDS MIDNIGHT WITH THE ANY STORM THAT DOES DEVELOP TOMORROW HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME STRONG TO SEVERE, DAMAGING WIND AND LOCALIZED FLOODING. OUR PRIMARY CONCERNS ARE GROUNDS FOR WET, SO IF WE GET ANY HEAVY RAIN OVER ONE LOCATION, IT COULD CAUSE SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING PROBLEMS, BUT ALSO SOME HAIL CAN’T BE RULED OUT EITHER, SO WE’LL BE WATCHING THAT CLOSELY MONDAY. THOSE NICE SKIES WILL CLEAR TEMPERATURES BACK TOWARDS 70. TUESDAY IS THE PICK OF THE WEEK. WE’LL SEE MORE CLOUDS AND WHAT WE’LL SEE ON MONDAY, BUT TEMPERATURES SKYROCKET INTO THE UPPER 70S AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY. OVERALL RAINFALL TOMORROW DOESN’T LOOK TO BE PARTICULARLY HEAVY, EXCEPT AGAIN, WHERE STORMS MAY KIND OF HOVER OVER A SPOT OR TWO. SO WE’LL BE WATCHING THAT THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. AND THE BEST CHANCE OF SEEING A STRONGER STORM IS ACTUALLY EAST OF THE CITY. BUT ALL OF US HAVE A SHOT AGAIN FROM ABOUT 4:00 TO MIDNIGHT. AND THESE MODES OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE POSSIBLE AGAIN. FLOODING AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE OUR PRIMARY CONCERN. 75 YOUR HIGH TEMPERATURE BEFORE THOSE STORMS GET HERE 70 ON MONDAY. BEAUTIFUL 76 ON TUESDAY AND THEN UNFORTUNATELY, IT’S BACK TO SHOWER CHANCES WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. RIGHT NOW, NO ONE DAY LOOKS TO BE

Severe Weather Alert Day: Late day storms Sunday

Our clear skies will allow temperatures to drop pretty quickly tonight. We will start in the lower 40s on Sunday but skyrocket into the 70s by mid-afternoon. We will watch a cold front drop in from the north to bring rain and storms to the area starting generally after 4pm. Storms will have the potential to have strong winds and heavy downpours with small hail a lesser concern. Rain will end late Sunday night, and while widespread flooding currently looks unlikely, the rainfall will delay our rivers from getting fully back into their banks this week. The Ohio River is currently not expected to drop back below 18 feet (and thus exit the Mon Wharf) until Thursday morning. We will dry out Monday and Tuesday with highs staying in the 70s. Rain returns Wednesday through Friday with scattered showers and temperatures drop below normal into the weekend.Tonight: Mainly clear. Low of 43.Tomorrow: Severe Weather Alert Day. Rain and storms late, otherwise mostly cloudy. High of 75. Winds gust to 35mph outside of thunderstorms.Monday: Mostly sunny. High of 70. Low of 50.
