Man hit on head, robbed at knifepoint by masked suspects in Park Ridge parking garage: police

PARK RIDGE, Ill. — Police are searching for two suspects after an armed robbery in an underground parking garage in Park Ridge.

The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Tuesday in the parking garage located at 15 North Summit Avenue.

A man reported to police that while he was walking towards the elevator, he was approached by two men wearing ski masks. One of them sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray.

Police said the man also saw one of the offenders holding a knife in his hand. The masked men then struck the victim multiple times in the head until he fell to the ground, and took his wallet.

According to police, the victim was able to run from the area, but then observed a light grey sedan chasing him. The sedan then fled from the scene.

Police said the victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
