Former Hokie Cattoor embarking on new chapter at the PIT

Hunter Cattoor ranks 7th all-time in made 3-pointers in the ACC while playing a program record 151 games in his five year career in Blacksburg.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Hunter Cattoor is embarking on the next chapter of his life. The former Virginia Tech Hokie is one of 64 seniors from around the country providing their basketball resumes at this year's 70th Portsmouth Invitational from Churchland High School. He's well aware of the tournament's history and what it can do for a player.

"It's a great honor", he said. "I'm kind of blessed to be one of those 64 and kind of be around this environment. These guys have been good seniors and kind of play with them and develop these relationships with them".

Cattoor had just 9 points for Jani King as they won over Portsmouth Sports Club on Wednesday night. He's hoping his play that helped him become Virginia Tech's all-time leader in made three pointers with 332 will get him noticed by NBA and international scouts.

"You have eyes on you and it's people that you want to play for. So you have to go out there and kind of prove yourself."

The Portsmouth Invitational continues through to the finals on Saturday night.
