LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Bishop Gorman baseball team will forfeit multiple games after an “administrative error” led to an ineligible transfer student playing for the school.

Athletic Director Grant Rice said the error was brought to the school’s attention on April 18. It specifically involved “permission to play” paperwork for a transfer student that was submitted at the beginning of the season.

That paperwork contained an unspecified error that was rectified by the school after further investigation. The student in question has been ruled eligible to play for the remainder of the season, but the team will forfeit all games in which he participated up to this point.

The team’s coach, Chris Sheff, was suspended earlier this month following complaints to the school. The nature of the complaints or the investigation are not yet known.
