The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has charged two juveniles with making threats of mass violence on school property against Northwest and Flat Rock middle schools in Winston-Salem, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
One of the juveniles has been charged with one count of communicating threats of mass violence on school property against Northwest Middle School. The other juvenile has been charged with two counts of the same charge against at Flat Rock Middle School.
Parents of students at both schools have been notified by the district, the news release said.
“The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the ongoing threats upon our schools and continue to work diligently with the school system to identify the sources of the threats,” Chief Deputy Henry Gray Jr. wrote. “The FCSO remains committed to fostering a safe learning environment for our schools and the community. We encourage parents to remain vigilant in monitoring their children’s use of social media.”
