'BEAUTY,' actress Jamie Lee Curtis commented.

'Brave beautiful BADASS,' Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay posted.

'Greatest friend,' Jessica Seinfeld remarked.

It comes several months after Schumer sparked concern online after her face appeared unusually swollen and puffy during an appearance on TV.

Schumer appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon back in February - but a clip quickly went viral on social media and medical professionals weighed in online over what may have caused her face to appear as it did.

She responded to the speculation by opening up about her battles with endometriosis and an autoimmune disease - before eventually revealing she has Cushing syndrome.

The star said that she learned she had Cushing Syndrome while promoting season two of her show Life & Beth, after speculation about her appearance helped her realize 'something was wrong.'

'It has been a crazy couple [of] weeks for me and my family. Aside from fears about my health, I also had to be on camera having the internet chime in. But thank God for that. Because that's how I realized something was wrong,' she said in Jessica Yellin's News Not Noise newsletter.

Cushing syndrome is a disorder that occurs when your body makes too much of the hormone cortisol (known as the stress hormone) over a long period of time.

Symptoms can include weight gain in the face and trunk, a fatty lump between the shoulders, pink or purple stretch marks, frail skin and more.

Treatment for Cushing syndrome is designed to lower the amount of cortisol in the body, and depends on the cause of the syndrome, according to Mayo Clinic.

Amy explained her journey to find out her diagnosis: 'While I was doing press on camera for my Hulu show, I was also in MRI machines four hours at a time, having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up.'

'So finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I'm healthy was the greatest news imaginable.'

When asked why she decided to share her 'personal medical information,' Schumer said she wants to 'advocate for women's health.'

'The shaming and criticism of our ever-changing bodies is something I have dealt with and witnessed for a long time.'

'I want so much for women to love themselves and be relentless when fighting for their own health in a system that usually doesn't believe them.'

She added that her diagnosis 'is a good example of the fact that we never know what is going on with someone.'

'Everyone is struggling with something. Maybe we can all be a little kinder to each other and ourselves.'

Before revealing her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, Schumer responded to the online speculation about her face on Instagram.

Taking to Instagram on February 15, the star detailed her battle with endometriosis and autoimmune disease - but said she still felt 'strong and beautiful' in the midst of her health woes.

She wrote: 'Thank you so much for everyone’s input about my face! I’ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance as all women do for almost 20 years. And you’re right it is puffier than normal right now.

'Aside from fears about my health, I also had to be on camera having the internet chime in. But thank God for that. Because that's how I realized something was wrong'

'I have endometriosis an autoimmune disease that every woman should read about. There are some medical and hormonal things going on in my world right now but I’m okay.

'Historically women’s bodies have barely been studied medically compared to men. The book “all in her head” does a good job explaining this. I also believe a woman doesn’t need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation.

'But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self love and acceptance of the skin you’re in. Like every other women/person some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head.

'But I feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this tv show I created. Wrote. Starred in and directed. Maybe just maybe we can focus on that for a little.

'I had backup dancers on Fallon but my face is the headline hahaha anyway I hope you enjoy life and Beth. Love and solidarity. Amy.'
