Exclusive: Champions League winning manager’s agents have contacted Liverpool about replacing Jurgen Klopp

TBR Football understands that Thomas Tuchel would like to move back to England this summer.

TBR sources confirm that Thomas Tuchel‘s representatives have been working to make it known to clubs about the German’s availability.

We can reveal that they have contacted Liverpool and Manchester United to inform them of Tuchel’s situation – which is that he is ready to pursue another job when his time at Bayern comes to an end this summer.

As it stands it is not believed Tuchel is seen by Liverpool as someone they want to pursue.

United are believed to appreciate his CV but as it stands he is not seen as a leading candidate to replace Erik Ten Hag.

What Tuchel has said about Klopp

Liverpool announced that Klopp would be leaving Anfield this summer back in January and Tuchel reacted to the news at the time.

“I need to process the news first,” Tuchel said. “I can’t say anything about it yet. Kloppo is one of the best coaches of all time. He’s always managed to influence an entire club at all his clubs. It’s huge news.”

The current Bayern boss is also set to depart the Allianz Arena at the end of the season and has replaced Klopp in the past.

Indeed, when Klopp left Borussia Dortmund to join Liverpool back in 2015, Tuchel was named as his successor.

Both managers have also enjoyed spells at Bundesliga outfit Mainz, with Tuchel taking the hot seat at the Mewa Arena just 11 months after Klopp’s departure in June 2008.

Tuchel has enjoyed considerable success as a manager since, picking up a German Cup with Dortmund and two Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain, as well as a Champions League title at Chelsea in 2021.

But after landing the Bundesliga title last term, his spell at Bayern hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. Former United boss Ralf Rangnick looks set to be the man to replace Tuchel this summer.

The 50-year-old remains in with a chance of securing silverware this season though. Bayern are set to face Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final later this month after knocking out Arsenal in the previous round.

Tuchel is also of interest to West Ham United, with technical director Tim Steidten particularly keen to being the German boss to the London Stadium.
