BENSENVILLE, Ill. — The Fenton School Board on Wednesday approved an independent review into the case of a teacher accused of a long-term sexual misconduct with a student.

The board voted unanimously to move forward.

The teacher was fired last month following paid leave.

During emotional meetings, parents asked the school board to investigate.

Bensenville’s village president also supported the move in a public letter.

The Bensenville Police Department is already investigating but hasn’t released any details.
