John McConnell

Profile

John McConnell earned a B.A. degree in American Literature at Michigan State University, followed in 1976 by a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. After work at Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott in Boston, John was a founding principal, in 1987, of McConnell+Partners Architects Inc, specializing in residential and small-scale institutional and commercial design. He also has been adjunct professor of American architectural history at Boston College since 1979, a lecturer at the Harvard Architecture School, and a lecturer-in-residence at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, among many other private and institutional groups. John has devoted himself to fine art since 1990, specializing in traditional landscape painting in oils, which may also be seen at his website, www.JohnMcConnellArtist.com. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Winchester / Saint-Germain-en-Laye Jumelage organization, the Winchester Historical Society, and the Saint Botolph Club.
