The Rolling Stones Are Back On The Billboard Charts

Following

The Rolling Stones are only a few months removed from their most recent album, but already they’re back with a different title. Hackney Diamonds was released in late 2023, and it gave the band another huge commercial win all around the world. That title is no longer present on the Billboard charts, but this week, another beloved set from the group returns to a pair of lists.

Hot Rocks 1964-1971 finds its way back to a pair of Billboard rankings this frame. Americans are still enamored with the Rolling Stones, so it makes sense that the band’s most successful title in the country would be a collection of their biggest hits.

On the Billboard 200, Hot Rocks 1964-1971 reappears at No. 180. The tally ranks the most-consumed projects in the U.S., regardless of style or release date. It uses a methodology that combines sales with other forms of consumption, such as various kinds of streaming.

Hot Rocks 1964-1971 re-enters the most important albums chart in America at No. 180. That’s a far cry from its No. 4 peak, but the fact that it returns at all is impressive.

In the past tracking period, Hot Rocks 1964-1971 moved another 7,991 units. That sum includes just 167 sales, as well as thousands of equivalent units made up from streams of all the tunes featured on the project.

As Hot Rocks 1964-1971 lands on the Billboard 200 again, it also reaches one of the chart company’s rock-only lists. The compilation is back on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking, which focuses only on the most-consumed titles that fit either of those styles.

On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, the Rolling Stones’ collection reappears at No. 43. It once climbed to No. 7, and it’s now lived somewhere on the tally for a total of 239 frames.
