Early voting for the Joint City Election ends Tuesday. Election Day is May 4. (Tyler Morning Telegraph File)

Early voting is winding down in the May 4 joint city election. Tuesday is the last chance to vote early in this election, during which council seats are on the ballot in three Smith County cities, with one mayor facing opposition.

The joint election has 14,500 eligible voters.

If you don’t get a chance to vote early, you can cast a ballot on Election Day, which is this Saturday, May 4. Saturday is also the last day the county can receive a ballot by mail.

Smith County residents have local elections for the City of Tyler District 2, City of Lindale Place 2, and City of Arp council and mayor positions. Republican primary voters and those who missed the March primary can participate in the County Commissioner Precinct 3 Primary Runoff Election.

Voters can utilize an interactive map on the county’s current elections information website to determine their eligibility for specific elections in Smith County. This feature aids voters in identifying whether they reside within districts holding an election.

Elections admin Michelle Allcon said the interactive map can be highly beneficial for voters as it provides valuable information and displays the polling places that will be open.
