Caitlyn Jenner slams Biden for celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter

Caitlyn Jenner bashed Joe Biden for issuing a proclamation on the Transgender Day of Visibility when it coincided with Easter this year.

The transgender celebrity accused the president of conflating the Christian holiday with the longstanding day of support for transgender individuals — which Jenner herself has previously celebrated.

“I am absolutely disgusted that Joe Biden has declared the most Holy of Holy days – a self-proclaimed devout Catholic – as Transgender Day of Visibility. The only thing you should be declaring on this day is ‘HE is Risen,'” the Olympic gold medalist, 74, wrote on X.

Jenner, a staunch conservative who came out as a transgender woman in 2015, quickly gained backlash for her commentary online, with many noting that the holiday — intended to show support for the transgender community — has been held on March 31 every year since 2009.

“Well seeing as how this has been going on for nine years and Easter changes every year, you’re a reactionary trying to get any support from drifting,” one X user wrote.

Critics also noted that Jenner previously posted images of herself celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility, including in 2017.

“This you?” a commentator wrote, sharing a post that Jenner had made in 2017 captioned “#TransDayOfVisibility There’s no better visibility than with sisters by my side.”

Critics are targeting Biden for issuing a statement about Transgender Day of Visibility, and claiming that the statement is at odds with Christians celebrating the resurrection of Christ on the same day this year.

“I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity,” Biden’s statement said.
