PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s another sunny, very warm day across the Valley, with most locations in the upper 90s as the ridge of high-pressure slides to the east.

It was another warm morning as well, with an overnight low of 70 degrees. That’s well above the average of 62 degrees.

The warm mornings and sunny days contribute to these warmer-than-average days and highs in the 90s, but no heat watches or warnings have been issued. Those usually occur later into the summer when overnight lows are in the mid to high 80s, and we have extended days 10-15 degrees above normal.

That is also the reason we have not issued a First Alert. Still, we want you to be mindful of your time outdoors and of your hydration levels as we all adjust to our summer months ahead.

A slow, noticeable cooling trend is in store for us as several weak systems will pass north of our state. These will generally pick up wind speeds and drop our temperatures back to a few degrees below normal by Thursday and keep them there through Saturday.

A second, deeper system may bring scattered sprinkles north and east of the Valley on Saturday, but confidence is low at this time. We will be back in the mid 90s by Monday of next week.
