The Zach Wilson era will go down in infamy among New York Jets fans.
They took him with the No. 2 pick after an impressive Pro Day and some solid numbers at BYU, but he never looked the part in the pros.
Outside of a couple of solid games, Wilson looked out of sorts and like a deer in headlights more often than not.
The team had a Super Bowl-caliber defense, yet he constantly held them back with his play, up to the point where he was literally booed off the field multiple times.
Injuries kept giving Wilson an opportunity to prove his worth, and time after time, he failed.
Still, the team also put him under a lot of pressure, which is why they gave him a classy farewell message after trading him to the Denver Broncos.
Thank you, @ZachWilson 🙏 pic.twitter.com/sFMr5xviYn

There’s no need to be mean if things don’t work out for a player.
The Jets had a terrible offensive line and failed to build their game plan around him, so it’s not like he’s the sole person responsible for his failure.
After all the reports and everything that transpired, it seemed like he was never going to find success there.
He’s still young and is going to face plenty of competition for snaps in Denver, but there’s still a chance that he can salvage his career and get back on track.
