Linn County received seven bids — ranging from about $205,126 to $749,999 — for the paving portion of a turn signal lane project on Seven Mile Lane southeast of Albany, at Tuesday’s meeting of the Linn County Board of Commissioners.

County Engineer Daineal Malone said after the meeting that Linn County staff will develop the project site and Tuesday’s bid opening was the paving portion of the project.

The turn signal lane will be near the entrance to the Selmet plant near Fry Road, which has expanded its employee base in recent years.

The project previously received $575,000 in economic development funding. Linn County has over time, acquired the necessary rights-of-way for the project.

County Engineer Daineal Malone said the bids will be evaluated to ensure they meet bidding rules and a preferred bid will be presented at next week’s meeting of the Board of Commissioners.
