Warriors' Stars May Compete Against Caitlin Clark at 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco

Caitlin Clark's college basketball career officially came to an end on Sunday when her Iowa Hawkeyes fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the National Championship game by a score of 87-75.

The Gamecocks completed their unbeaten season in pretty dominant fashion, but Clark still showed off, leading all scorers with 30 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists.

While Sunday's game ended her run in college basketball, her basketball career is just getting started. Clark is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft on April 15, and she also received a record offer from Ice Cube to join the Big 3.

But that's not all.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania on FanDuel TV's Run It Back show, Clark could also participate in the NBA's All-Star Weekend in 2025. Charania reports that the NBA is discussing bringing back Stephen Curry versus Sabrina Ionescu, but this time, it could also include Clark and Klay Thompson in a 2v2.

"At this point Stephen Curry versus Sabrina Ionescu is very likely for next year," Charania said. "And I'm told with Caitlin Clark and potentially Klay Thompson to make it 2v2... I'm told Steph Curry specifically brought up potentially having Klay Thompson in this competition for next year."

At the 2024 All-Star Weekend, Curry went up against Ionescu in a 3-point challenge that stole the show. Curry barely edged out Ionescu, 29-26, but it was quite the battle between two of the game's best shooters.

Clearly, the NBA is already thinking about running things back. This time, they want to up the stakes. Not only will Curry and Ionescu likely get their rematch, but Thompson and Clark could join the party.

Charania also mentioned Damian Lillard as a potential name to shoot alongside Curry, but with the 2025 All-Star Weekend taking place in San Francisco at the Chase Center, it would make a lot of sense for Curry and Thompson to team up, assuming they're both still with the Warriors next season.

Thompson won the NBA's 3-Point Contest in 2016, a year after Curry took home his first of two awards in 2015. Curry also won in 2021, and then beat Ionescu last year.

As for Ionescu, she scored a WNBA-record 37 in the league's 3-Point Contest in 2023. While she wasn't able to beat Curry this past year, she would be more than capable of getting it done in 2025, especially with the sharpshooting Clark by her side.

Clark is the Division I NCAA women's leader in just about every scoring statistic, including career points (3,951), points in a season (1,234), career 3-pointers (548) and 3-pointers in a season (201).
