73% 41 Reviews Tomatometer 76% 100+ Ratings Audience Score A chronicle of the life of one of the darker Marvel characters, the mysterious Jessica Jones. When a tragedy puts an end to her short-lived career as a superhero, Jessica settles in New York City and opens her own detective agency, called Alias Investigations, which seems to be called into cases involving people who have special abilities. Suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome, Jessica wants to do good, but her primary interest isn't in saving the world, it's saving her apartment and getting through each day. Based on a graphic novel intended for adults, this is not a superhero story for the kids. Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Premiered Jan 12 Buy Now

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Even if it's not the most satisfying finale for an entire era of Marvel television, Jessica Jones' final chapter finishes strong by giving its complicated heroine the space to change -- and Krysten Ritter one last chance to work her sarcastic magic.

Brent T Pretty good season to end one of Marvel's best shows. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Vitoria F This final season managed to resume the important characteristics of the first season and correct what was missing in this and the second, with a good mystery story and Hogarth finally being important to the main plot! Again, almost everything revolved around Trish, but now we had the true revelation of her morals, closing a personal narrative built little by little since the first season. It's a shame that Jessica's (the so-called protagonist) personal narrative wasn't properly closed, giving the idea that, in the end, everything will just continue to be almost as it always was. But this in no way reduces the quality of the character who, always charismatic while being true to her style, is one of the most complete in the MCU. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/24 Full Review Molly C This was a pretty cool way of concluding this era of Marvel television! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review J Absolutely gutted this was the final season, but was satisfied with Jessica's character development and wept when it was over because I was not ready to say goodbye to this version of Jessica. Sincerely hope we get a revival of This version of Jessica within the MCU proper. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Corbin E While the overall show was pretty good, Hellcat's character was badly mishandled. The writing for her drug the whole show down. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/14/23 Full Review Matthew C Good season, but the sister was so annoying it brought it down. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Carmen Phillips Autostraddle Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor, and Carrie-Anne Moss ground the final season with standout performances. Oct 27, 2021 Full Review Amon Warmann Empire Magazine [F]rom the gritty tone and weighty themes to the morally murky characters and great performances, Jessica Jones' final season is by and large an enjoyable showcase of what we'll miss about these shows as the Defendersverse comes to a close. Rated: 3/5 Aug 13, 2019 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au It was never about the punching, kicking and leaping across buildings, it was always about the emotional battles. Jun 21, 2019 Full Review Joseph Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast Are you still a hero if your moral action helps an evil person? Is it heroic to let bad things happen to bad people? There are some great topics and questions that this season asks that, surprisingly, most superhero media hasn't up to this point. Rated: 3.5 Jan 11, 2023 Full Review David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk Towards the end there was a 50-50 split between good and bad, but the first half or the show there was barely anything to like. A sad end for the Netflix MCU branch. Rated: 2/5 May 27, 2020 Full Review Ed Fortune Starburst Jessica Jones is all about doing the right thing even though you really don't want to. It ends on a perfect note for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one that Stan Lee would be proud of. Rated: 7/10 Jul 3, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
