Cheryl may be so beloved she hardly needs a surname - but fans have had a hard time keeping up after she's changed it a few times over the years.

The Girls Aloud star now goes by her first name as a mononym. But what is her surname in 2024?

Cheryl, 40, originally changed her name to Cheryl Cole after marrying footballer Ashley Cole in 2006 at the height of her pop career. In 2010, Cheryl announced she would be separating from the footballer and filed for divorce, citing 'unreasonable behaviour'.

She didn't immediately ditch the Cole last name and continued to use it for a number of years, before releasing new solo material under just Cheryl. She ditched the Cole surname when she got married again to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2014.

The couple split after 18 months in December 2015. Following their divorce Jean Bernard, who founded the pop-up restaurant and nightclub Cosy Box, accused the Geordie star of trying to ruin his name and force him out of the country.

Cheryl went on to date former One Direction singer Liam Payne in 2016, and they share a son Bear together, who was born in 2017. Cheryl and Liam were never married and she was never called Payne.

After the break up with Liam, Cheryl decided to go full circle and legally change her name back to Tweedy.

It is not believed Cherly is dating anyone new.
